據彭博新聞社網站11月25日報道，德國總理朔爾茨不想發動新的跨大西洋貿易戰，但是他擔心法國總統馬克龍可能會挑起這樣一場爭端。
報道稱，馬克龍定於本月底訪問華盛頓，他一直在推動《購買歐洲產品法》，以對抗最近美國通過的氣候和稅收法案。

柏林的政府官員說，德國的立場是，雖然歐洲需要加大對自身工業的支持，但在烏克蘭戰爭還在激烈進行之際尋求與華盛頓發生沖突，這是一個戰略錯誤。
